You are probably looking at my website because you want some help.  Life can be challenging, and sometimes we all need a little support. You are thinking about the need to make some changes in your life, and you’re open to the idea of getting professional help to move forward. Right now, you may also need support because of the impact the Covid 19 virus is having on your life.

My name is Isobel Milne. I’m a fully qualified counsellor, hypnotherapist and coach based on the Isle of Arran in Scotland. I work with young people and adults of all ages, both one-to-one and in groups.  I can help you to address your problems and support you to change your outlook.

My Approach

I’m an integrative counsellor. That means I use a variety of different techniques and tools to suit your personality type and circumstances. I take a flexible approach to your therapy, be it meditative, creative or goal-led – or all of these at different times. I work with professional understanding, empathy, warmth and humour – within a holistic framework and a safe, supportive environment.

My first contact with clients is usually a chat over the phone, or sometimes people get in touch by e-mail or text. This helps me understand why you are considering counselling, and I explain what may be involved. There’s no obligation at this stage, but if you want to carry on, we will agree a time and place to meet for your first session.

Presently I am working in a mobile capacity on the island, although I hope to have my own counselling premises in the near future.

I provide individual and group sessions in my clients’ homes, workplaces or in public spaces such as schools and village halls. For clients with disabilities, I am of course happy to come to you.

During the Covid 19 outbreak, I am able to offer counselling by phone and WhatsApp video.

If you are a key worker in the NHS or social care sector, I am currently providing counselling and/or hypnotherapy at a reduced rate to help you with anxiety, stress, loss and workload pressures brought on by the current crisis.

In all cases, the first phone consultation is free of charge. Therapy sessions for individual clients are then £45 per hour, with some concessions available where appropriate.

Fees for group sessions and workshops are by arrangement, depending on requirements and location.
